Steigerwald Wildlife Refuge Reopens

Wilson Cady, Councilmember Joyce Lindsay, members of the Washougal Team and a handful of nature lovers joined Jim Clapp, Refuge Manager and me for the reopening of the Steigerwald National Wildlife Refuge on Friday morning.  

Portions of the Refuge were closed due to a wildland fire last Fall.  Tapani Construction donated 36-tons of crushed gravel this week to complete the project.

The weekend weather forecast is outstanding.  A perfect time to hike the trails and experience the refuge.
